Can Open AI and ChatGPT kill Democracy?

Can Open AI and ChatGPT persuade political voting and kill Democracy?

Yes – it says so itself. This is a direct cut/paste from Open.AI ChatGPT after being fed information about it trawling social networks for user voting persuasions and then befriending said user and re persuading that user with Social Media Marketing posts, private messages and emails to reconvince the voter to vote for their candidate instead.

Do you trust any politician, software programmer or the likes of Bill Gates and OpenAI enough to not use it for their own political purposes. I don’t!

Read this – direct from OpenAI’s ChatGPT today – the 21st June 2023:

I quote OpenAI ChatGPT with screen dumps:

“Yes, organizations could potentially use artificial intelligence language models like ChatGPT to try to influence and manipulate voters. The scenario described with “Clogger” [fictitious “example” name fed to ChatGPT input] is an example of how AI-powered tools could be used to target individuals and tailor persuasive messages to them on a large scale.

By analyzing vast amounts of data about individuals, such as their browsing history, social media activity, and other personal information, AI systems could generate highly personalized messages designed to sway voters in a particular direction. These messages could be delivered through various channels, including social media platforms, messaging apps, email, and more.

OpenAI and ChatGPT persauding voters who to vote forThe use of AI in this context raises concerns about privacy, consent, and the potential for manipulation. It could exploit cognitive biases and psychological vulnerabilities to nudge voters towards certain candidates or positions. The ability to engage in one-on-one interactions with voters on a massive scale could amplify the impact of such manipulation efforts.

It’s important to note that the ethical use of AI and the responsibility of organizations deploying such technologies are critical considerations. Regulations and safeguards need to be in place to ensure transparency, accountability, and protection of democratic processes.”
